The biggest play in Kansas State’s 48-41 upset of OU last Saturday was A.J. Parker’s 26-yard interception return of a Nick Basquine pass. Yes, a Basquine pass.
The return set up Skylar Thompson’s 14-yard touchdown run with 23 seconds left in the first half and gave K-State its first lead, 24-20.
Basquine, a senior wide receiver, initially looked to throw deep, but K-State defended that route. So Basquine scrambled, and instead of running, he drifted laterally, looking for another receiver, and found Charleston Rambo open in the middle of the field. The ball bounced off Rambo and into Parker’s hands.
