OU football: Lee Morris named semifinalist for Burlsworth Trophy

Oklahoma receiver Lee Morris is one of 10 semifinalists for the Burlsworth Trophy, given annually to the most outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on.

The junior from Allen, Texas is OU's third-leading receiver with 353 yards, but touchdowns have been his specialty. Morris has scored on eight of his 16 catches this season, giving him the nickname "TD Lee."

Morris trails fellow Sooner receiver CeeDee Lamb by one for the team lead in touchdowns despite Lamb having 22 more catches than Morris.

Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley put Morris on scholarship after the season opener.
