The Sooners will be without a major leader in the linebacker group this spring.
Rising junior Caleb Kelly will sit out of competition after going through an offseason surgery on his shoulder, coach Lincoln Riley announced at his Thursday news conference.
Along with Kelly, wide receivers Mykel Jones and Nick Basquine will also miss spring workouts. Like Kelly, Jones had offseason shoulder surgery, while Basquine tore his other Achilles tendon during a warmup.
Cornerback Jordan Parker, who missed the season with a knee injury suffered in the first game of the season, will be limited in spring practice along with offensive lineman Alex Dalton.
