Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops stood in front of his players Monday and raised his right arm as the team meeting wound down. “Going to be having a chance to be starting this week, has already earned it by the way he's played this year — Erick Wren on scholarship,” Stoops said. The announcement drew raucous applause from Wren's teammates and those sitting around him rubbed Wren's head as he looked toward the ground. “It's pretty exciting, I can tell you that," Wren said. "It's a moment I've been waiting for for a long time." Wren is the latest walk-on to earn a scholarship, joining fullback Connor Knight earlier this year and quarterback Baker Mayfield early in his Sooners career.
