On Aug. 21, 2015, Austin Kendall quarterbacked Cuthbertson High School of Waxhaw, N.C., to a season-opening, 56-0 rout over Victory Christian Center of Charlotte.
Exactly one year later, Kendall is the Oklahoma backup quarterback, the only scholarship player available behind Baker Mayfield. And is doing great, says his coach.
“Love it. His past probably week and a half, he's been great,” OU coach Bob Stoops said. “Just continues to improve, decision-making, throwing the ball really well. He's taken a big jump that's really been positive. Really looks comfortable.”
Kendall is 6-foot-1, 210 pounds.
