One Sooners player, though, has already received one such ring.
Last week, for graduation, Sterling Shepard's mom, Cheri Shepard, presented her son with his father's 1985 national championship ring.
Derrick Shepard died in 1999 when Sterling was 6.
Sterling Shepard and the Sooners play Clemson in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 31 (3 p.m., ESPN) in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Shepard wasn't the only Sooners football player who graduated last week.
Defensive end Charles Tapper and linebacker Frank Shannon graduated as well.
