NORMAN — Dakota Austin doesn't appear on Oklahoma's depth chart, but a series of injuries elevated the junior from Lancaster, Texas, to reserve status and Austin came on and had a strong performance in Oklahoma's 63-27 win over Texas Tech.
Austin played in place of cornerback Zack Sanchez, who suffered a sprained ankle on the second play of Saturday's game.
Austin finished with 11 tackles and an interception. He had just eight tackles in his Sooners career entering the day.
“It's definitely hard to be patient,” Austin said. “It's even harder to keep the will.
