When Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook left the game in the second quarter with an apparent concussion, Sooners running back Samaje Perine and the rest of OU's offense underwent a transformation like the depiction of the Incredible Hulk on the socks Perine wears every game day.
“I don't know what it is, but we get fired up after stuff like that,” Perine said. “That just brought the demons out of us.”
Perine ran for 239 yards and a touchdown, the third-best rushing performance of his career, in the Sooners' 38-20 Bedlam win.
Perine did it in a career-high 37 carries that helped him move within 82 yards of tying Billy Sims' OU career rushing record.
