ARLINGTON, Texas — Kevin and Missy Murray stood in the south sideline tunnel at the 50-yard line, eagerly waiting for their son to walk off the field.

Kyler Murray, by leading Oklahoma to a 39-27 win against Texas in the Big 12 Championship, had just won his sixth game at AT&T Stadium — the football palace where he quarterbacked Allen High School to three consecutive Texas state titles from 2012-14.
