NORMAN — Oklahoma freshman wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was having a monster first half in the Sooners' 56-14 win over Tulane when he lowered his shoulder and delivered a punishing hit to Tulane free safety Taris Shenall on Jeff Badet's apparent 44-yard touchdown run on a reverse.
But Lamb, who had four catches for 131 yards at that point, was flagged for targeting and after a lengthy review, the call was confirmed.
The review is mandated with targeting calls.
“We expected it to be overturned,” Sooners coach Lincoln Riley said.
