Bobby Joe Evans didn't have the OU basketball career he hoped for. Evans, a 6-foot-9 center out of McKinney, Texas, was one of coach Kelvin Sampson's best recruits. He signed with OU in April 1995, and early in his freshman season, Evans scored 20 points against Oral Roberts.
But knee injuries limited Evans to 26 starts in his first two seasons, he endured three surgeries and his career effectively was over. Evans played two ceremonial minutes as an OU junior. Yet Evans graduated from OU and never lost his Sooner passion. And now his sons are making an impact in OU football.
