NORMAN — When OU running back coach Jay Boulware saw Trey Sermon go down with a knee injury in the first quarter of Oklahoma's spring game Saturday, his stomach dropped.
But after further evaluation on the running back, Boulware is feeling more optimistic about Sermon's prognosis.
“I don't want to lose anybody, I certainly don't want to lose a guy that has the playing experience that Trey has," Boulware said. "God worked everything out for him, his family and obviously us, but he first and foremost. He'll be OK."
Sermon rushed for 774 yards and five touchdowns in his freshman season and figures to be a key contributor again during his sophomore year.
