NORMAN — Sooners coach Lincoln Riley is looking for a new assistant coach after Jay Boulware’s departure to Texas.
Boulware, who had spent the past seven seasons as OU’s special teams coordinator, also coaching tight ends and running backs during his tenure, will coach special teams and tight ends for the Longhorns.
“When you have the success we’ve had, a number of our guys are going to get contacted,” Riley said just after the season ended. “That just goes with the territory.”
Boulware is from Irving, Texas, and played for the Longhorns before his career ended prematurely due to a cardiac arrhythmia.
