OU football: Jalen Hurts top 10 finalist for Johnny Unitas Award

NORMAN — Jalen Hurts is a top 10 finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, it was announced Wednesday.

Hurts has thrown for 2,469 yards and 21 touchdowns and added another 801 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground through eight games this season.

The award is given annually to the nation's top college quarterback. Other finalists include LSU's Joe Burrow, Iowa's Nate Stanley and Notre Dame's Ian Book.

Former Washington State quarterback Gardner Minshew won the award last year. The award will be presented to this year's winner on Dec. 11 in Baltimore, Maryland.
