NORMAN — Jalen Hurts, fielding the first snap of his Sooner career, rolled to his right and found Nick Basquine for a 33-yard gain.
Though the blue No. 1 jersey Hurts wore didn’t come with the consequence of the crimson one he’ll sport come late August, Hurts’ Oklahoma debut in the spring game Friday night was encouraging to all who questioned how his passing ability would translate to Lincoln Riley’s offense.
The senior transfer from Alabama, who’s already emerged as a team leader despite not arriving in Norman until January, completed 11 of his 14 passes for 174 yards to lead the Red Team past the White Team 35-14.
