ATLANTA — As much as any two figures, Jalen Hurts and Alex Grinch have defined Oklahoma’s run to the College Football Playoff.
Oklahoma’s quarterback, Hurts, and its defensive coordinator, Grinch, have set the tone for the team, with Hurts continuing a string of excellence and leadership at his position and Grinch transforming a group that was among the worst in college football last year.
And in the midst of that, the two have built an unexpected bond as they’ve helped lead the Sooners to Saturday, where they’ll face top-ranked LSU in the Peach Bowl.
That’s a product, several Sooners said, of similar personalities.
