NORMAN — When Grant Calcaterra came to after taking a big hit in practice in early October, his thoughts immediately went to the future.
“I was kind of sitting on the field going, ‘Man, I’ve had a lot of these things. This might be the last one,'” Calcaterra said.
Last Thursday, Calcaterra officially stepped away from football, retiring due to repeated concussions after extensive conversations with doctors as well as his family over the last nearly two months.
Monday, he spoke at length about his decision, saying he loved football but had no regrets about his career.
