Flowers played with Blake Bell and Aaron Ripkowski. Flowers blocked for Keith Ford. Flowers played when Trevor Knight was an OU hero. Seems like a long time ago.
And Flowers had never carried the ball as a Sooner. A decent number of catches, 24, seven of which went for touchdowns. A bunch of blocks, sticking your nose into hard-charging linebackers and defensive ends, which is the prime duty of an OU fullback. But no carries.
Until Thursday night, when Flowers went from security detail to the main man.
