NORMAN — Rickey Dixon, the former OU star cornerback who battled amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for the last several years, died Saturday according to former Sooners coach Barry Switzer.
Dixon was 53.

Dixon won the Jim Thorpe Award as college football's top defensive back in 1987 and was a consensus All-American that year.
