NORMAN — Perhaps no Oklahoma football player needed the two extra days off afforded by the Thursday game at Iowa State more than Dimitri Flowers.
Flowers — like J.D. Runnels, Trey Millard, Aaron Ripkowski and other Sooner fullback/H-backs before him — has built a place in the OU offense based on versatility.
But against the Cyclones, even though Flowers did a bit of everything — including lining up once at quarterback — his primary job was to be Oklahoma's No. 1 running back.
The junior didn't have a single career carry going into the game but carried 22 times for 115 yards last week.
