NORMAN — After every practice this spring, Oklahoma defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks and graduate assistant Marcus Walker sit down and start trading stocks.
“There's all kinds of sells and buys and holds all the time,” Cooks said.
They aren't trading shares of Microsoft, Amazon or Intel.
Instead, they're working on shares of Jordan Thomas, Kahlil Haughton or Will Johnson.
“We call it our Nasdaq system,” Cooks said. “We'll grade their production. They're either moving up or they're moving down.”
Cooks and Walker track everything their players do during practices — pass breakups and interceptions help a player's stock rise.
