NORMAN — OU senior cornerback Chanse Sylvie was named to the 2020 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the groups announced Wednesday.
Sylvie took a prominent role this summer in social justice issues, developing a plan for police reform in the wake of the shootings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and others that once again brought the issue into the spotlight and led to protests around the country.
Sylvie met with Oklahoma state representatives and officials from the Norman Police Department and the city of Norman to discuss his plan.
Sylvie, a 2018 political science graduate, also established the One Mindset Foundation in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.
