NORMAN — In the spring, Chanse Sylvie was starting to doubt whether a comeback — at least the kind of comeback he’d envisioned for himself — was possible.
Sylvie tore his Achilles tendon in the spring of 2018 and missed virtually all of last season, returning to play in only a few plays in the Orange Bowl loss to Alabama.
But even after that, the doubt lingered.
“I definitely felt that,” Sylvie said. “Going through spring, I was questioning myself a lot, like maybe I can’t get back to the person I was. But like Coach (Alex) Grinch told me, the world doesn’t care about the situation, they care about the outcome of the situation, so just him telling me that and just realizing I had to improve, just find a way to get better, just find a way each and every day just to get better from where I'm at — Coach Grinch was a big help on that.
