LAWTON — Fans at University of Oklahoma athletic events will be able to purchase alcohol beginning with men's and women's basketball games next month.
Football fans will have to wait until at least next season, though.
The OU Board of Regents passed the measure to allow such sales Wednesday during their meeting at Cameron University.
Alcohol sales would also be permitted at baseball and softball games beginning with the 2019 seasons.
"Other venues will be reviewed on a case by case and event by event basis," the agenda item read.
OU President Jim Gallogly will report back to the board at its May 2019 meeting on any issues with the implementation of alcohol sales before a decision is made whether or not to move forward with such sales at football games.
