STILLWATER — Trae Young elevated and the crowd at Gallagher-Iba Arena briefly silenced.
The shot goes down, and the sold-out crowd of mostly Oklahoma State fans goes home stunned.
But the shot fell well short and off the mark, and Cowboys fans crashed the floor, celebrating a wild, 83-81 overtime win over Young and No. 4 Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
But Young turned in a day for the ages in Bedlam, bouncing back from an “off” 14-point performance in the first half to help lift the Sooners into overtime with 28 second-half points.
Young was still kicking himself over that first half, when he looked more like the player that had 12 turnovers and 20 points at Kansas State on Tuesday night than the freshman who has taken college basketball by storm.
