OU basketball: Sooners struggle to get to free-throw line in loss

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — With 12:59 to play in the second half Saturday, No. 12 Oklahoma appeared the have Alabama in a good place.

The Sooners were 10 seconds away from a quick eight-point scoring burst by Trae Young and they had the Crimson Tide in a tough spot defensively.

Alabama had just picked up its sixth team foul of the second half.

But Oklahoma couldn't take advantage.

The Sooners didn't go into the bonus until less than two minutes remained in the game and Alabama was up 12 in an eventual 80-73 Crimson Tide win at Coleman Coliseum.
