OU basketball: Sooners stall in second half in loss at Iowa State

AMES, Iowa — Kristian Doolittle’s floater from the paint bounced on the back iron of the rim, and that’s where it remained. The ball hung behind the basket for several seconds as 10 Sooners and Cyclones stared up in anticipation.

It was stubborn though, and jump ball was finally called. Doolittle couldn’t help but laugh, shake his head and retreat down the floor to play defense.

“Honestly I’ve only seen it happen on YouTube,” Doolittle said. “Even (Nick) Weiler-Babb told me after the shot he’s never seen anything like that before. It was just the way this game went.
