NORMAN — Sooner celebrities flocked to Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday, but Oklahoma’s on-court performance was too entertaining to be upstaged.
Jamal Bieniemy’s block of Texas guard Matt Coleman at the buzzer preserved what was once a 17-point Sooner lead. Oklahoma had been on its way to a rout, but the final swatted shot was necessary as the Longhorns nearly pierced OU’s NCAA Tournament bubble.
Texas outscored Oklahoma by 12 in the second half, but the Sooners hung on for a 69-67 win.
Christian James led the Sooners with 19 points. Bieniemy, who also came up big in a losing effort earlier this year in Austin, had eight assists.
