Alvin "Pooh" Williamson is expected to fill the vacant assistant coaching position on Lon Kruger's Oklahoma staff, The Oklahoman has learned.
The Beggs native and former Tulsa point guard spent last season as a Miami assistant. His dozen college coaching jobs include recent stops at Memphis, Texas Tech, TCU, SMU and Texas A&M.
Williamson will be one of two new OU assistants next season. Jim Molinari was hired on April 25 to replace Kevin Kruger, who left his dad's staff for a job at UNLV. Longtime OU assistant Chris Crutchfield recently joined the Arkansas staff, creating an opening for Williamson.
