AUSTIN, Texas — On a team full of veterans, it looked like the freshman was going to be the hero to snap Oklahoma’s Big 12 road losing streak.
Jamal Bieniemy, making his first career start, nailed a trio of 3-pointers in the final four minutes Saturday at Texas.
But Bieniemy’s fourth 3-point attempt in the final minutes clanged off the iron with 11 seconds left. After Texas forward Jaxson Hayes made 1 of 2 free throw attempts, OU had the ball, down by three points with 10 seconds left.
Aaron Calixte missed from deep, but the Sooners scrambled for the rebound.
