Just before a big recruiting weekend for basketball, Oklahoma picked up its first 2017 commit Thursday when Harrah power forward Brady Manek committed to the Sooners.
Manek (6-foot-7) also had offers from Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Mercer.
His older brother, Kellen Manek, is committed to Oral Roberts.
He averaged 10.8 points per game as a sophomore, helping Harrah to the Class 4A semifinals.
It’s a big kickoff for a big recruiting weekend for the Sooners.
The Sooners are scheduled to play host to a large group of top-flight recruits this weekend, including one who is already committed and another from right in the Sooners’ backyard in addition to Manek.
