COLUMBIA, S.C. — The chanting of "Polla, Polla, Polla," rang out as the final few minutes ticked away in Oklahoma's 95-72 win Friday against Ole Miss.
Hearing such a thing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament signaled a blowout was on hand. It happened to be in the Sooners' favor.
Polla scored on a reverse layup with 1:35 left, and the Sooner bench erupted as if he had nailed a game-winner.
"Hannes just works so hard in practice," point guard Aaron Calixte said. "We damn near beat him up every single time, fouling him and stuff like that.
