NORMAN — In the 24 hours before Oklahoma hosted Vanderbilt, Christian James shared two messages on Twitter.
The first was one word: Patience.
Then less than four hours before tipoff James tweeted, “Sometimes you have to look in the mirror and check yourself.”
Following his lowest scoring game of the season Wednesday at Oklahoma State, James drilled a pair of 3-pointers in the first four minutes Saturday. The rust had already worn away.
The senior guard finished with a game-high 21 points on 8 of 15 shooting in Oklahoma’s 86-55 win against Vanderbilt in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
