NORMAN — When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the college baseball season last March, OU was riding high.
The Sooners were 14-4 and becoming a trendy pick to make the College World Series.
The Major League Draft, even severely abbreviated at just five rounds, hit the Sooners hard as four players — including three pitchers — were taken.
High expectations aren't going away, though.
Friday, OU coach Skip Johnson and several players met with the media ahead of the season.
"We're just really thankful for thje opportunity to get to play this spring," Johnson said.
