TULSA — When he jogged off the field — prematurely it turned out — in the top of the eighth, Oklahoma fans sitting behind the Sooners’ dugout at ONEOK Field gave Robert Tasin a nice ovation Thursday.
It helped that he’d just delivered an RBI single to extend an OU lead but the appreciation was mainly about what Tasin had done on the mound all afternoon.
The Sooners needed a big performance from Tasin, not just to keep Oklahoma alive in the Big 12 Tournament but to keep alive any realistic shot of winning this week and extending OU’s season into next week.
