After a 34-27 record last season failed to produce an NCAA Tournament berth for Oklahoma, Sooners, coach Pete Hughes overhauled the schedule this year. Oklahoma will play mostly road games this season as Hughes aims for his first postseason appearance in his third year at the helm.
The Sooners figure to be tough at the top of their rotation with the steady Jake Elliott and Alec Hansen, who has electric stuff, anchoring the weekend. The offense will have to create runs in spots, but shortstop Sheldon Neuse is back in the middle of the order.
Hughes spoke with The Oklahoman's Ryan Aber at Monday's baseball media day.
