OU baseball: Pete Hughes' ejection fires up Sooners in comeback win over West Virginia

NORMAN — Pete Hughes didn't want to have to get ejected to light a fire under his team.

But on a day when the Sooners found out they'd be without their starting left fielder for the remainder of the regular season, Oklahoma needed any spark it could get.

Oklahoma's coach was kicked out of Saturday's game against West Virginia in the fourth inning with the Sooners' offense looking sluggish.

OU came alive near the end of the game, with hitting coach Mike Anderson at the helm, scoring seven runs in the eighth inning to beat West Virginia 12-6 and clinch the Big 12 baseball series at Mitchell Park.
