NORMAN — Kyle Mendenhall can't remember what was happening for about 180 feet of his joyous turn around the bases Sunday.
Right about the time he hit first base in the ninth inning, the ball Mendenhall drilled over the left-center wall at L. Dale Mitchell Park to give Oklahoma 5-4 walk-off win over Texas Tech, things became a blur.
“I kind of blacked out from first to third,” Mendenhall said.
Mendenhall snapped out of it once he picked up third-base coach Mike Anderson, and he enjoyed the final 90 feet as he entered the “madness” waiting for him at home plate.
