NORMAN — Oklahoma’s Blake Brewster couldn’t help but think about his grandfather Tuesday afternoon.
Standing on the field at L. Dale Mitchell Park, with no one in the stands but the people who mean the most to him — his family, girlfriend, teammates and coaches — gathered around him, Brewster was surprised by a post-practice solo graduation ceremony.
Brewster couldn’t attend OU’s commencement last weekend — he was with his teammates competing in Bedlam — so Skip Johnson and his staff brought commencement to Brewster.
And the major milestones that Brewster is experiencing right now at OU wouldn’t be possible without his grandfather.
