OU baseball: Alec Hansen focused on helping OU turn things around

NORMAN — The pressure is finally gone for Alec Hansen.

For the first time this baseball season and possibly for the first time in his career in Norman, the 6-foot-7 right-hander is just throwing. He's not worrying about his draft stock or anything other than helping Oklahoma turn things around and win the Big 12 Tournament to advance to the postseason.

That started to show itself last week when Hansen threw six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and walking one while striking out nine against Kansas State.

“It was good to get back out there and show myself that I can still do it and show my team that I can still do it and my coaches and at a good time of year,” Hansen said.
