OSU basketball: Shorthanded Cowboys can’t last in Bedlam defeat

STILLWATER — Lindy Waters sidestepped, shook his defender and hit a 3-pointer falling away from the basket.

The Oklahoma State junior and Norman native's fifth straight make to open Wednesday's Bedlam game pushed the Cowboys ahead by 19 early, but on a team with eight scholarship players following the dismissal of three a week earlier, OSU didn't have the numbers to survive in a 70-61 loss to Oklahoma.

Of the seven Cowboys (8-11 overall, 2-5 Big 12) who played Wednesday, six played at least 25 minutes, with junior Cam McGriff playing the entirety of the contest. Coach Mike Boynton couldn't deny that fatigue could've been a factor in the Cowboys' fade.
