But that was one of the few signs of offensive life for Oklahoma State on Sunday night, as UConn’s pitching slowed down the Cowboys in a 5-2 Huskies win.
The Cowboys and Huskies will play an elimination game at 6 p.m. Monday for a spot in next week’s super regional.
Oklahoma State hitters struck out 17 times, including eight consecutive to end the game — seven by Huskies closer Jacob Wallace.
After UConn scored three runs over the first two innings, the Cowboys seemed to settle down, as Brett Standlee found a rhythm that took him into the seventh despite his shaky start.
