Bob Stoops is back in the coaching business. And Oliver Luck is the reason why.
For the Friday Oklahoman, I wrote about Stoops becoming the coach/general manager of the fledgling XFL’s Dallas franchise and how former West Virginia athletic director Oliver Luck was instrumental in persuading Stoops to take the job. Luck is the commissioner/CEO of the XFL, which plans to start play in February 2020.
I didn’t make it to Arlington, Texas, on Thursday for the announcement – it was NBA trade deadline day, which in an NBA market is like election night in a capital city – but I got Luck on the phone after the Arlington press conference.
