The OU women’s team is headed to Lexington, Ky., as the No. 6 seed in that region of the 2016 NCAA Women’s Tournament. Their opening-game opponent is the No. 11 seed Purdue Boilermakers.
The two teams have similar overall records this season. Purdue was 20-11 in the regular season and finished sixth in the Big Ten Conference with an 10-8 record.
Oklahoma enters the NCAA Tournament with a 21-10 overall mark and a No. 24 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top-25 poll. The Lady Sooners were 11-7 in league play this season and finished fourth in the Big 12 standings.
