The Lady Sooners got a 20-point performance from sophomore Peyton Little and blocked 13 shots to push aside No. 11 Purdue and move on to play on Monday, when the 64-team field is cut in half. Seven of the blocks were by OU’s Vionise Pierre-Lewis, a career high for the sophomore forward from Lake Worth, Fla.
The taller Sooners appeared to bother the Lady Boilermakers throughout the contest, but it was the total team defensive effort that won this game for Oklahoma. Purdue began the game hitting just one of its first seven shots, allowing the Lady Sooners to seize control of the game early.
