Oklahoma spring football breakout candidates: Jamal Morris could bring much-needed size to Sooners' secondary

Editor's note: This is the second of a five-part series examining potential breakout players for the Oklahoma Sooners this spring.

Jamal Morris

Year: Freshman

Position: DB

Oklahoma returns its entire secondary from last season, which would normally indicate stability. But given the Sooners’ performance vs the pass last season, and the addition of new defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, that leaves the safety position wide open for new contributors.

Enter Jamal Morris.

Morris is a true freshman early enrollee who hails from Richmond, Texas. He was a consensus 4-star prospect in the most recent recruiting class, and is listed at 6-foot-2, 198 pounds -- already bigger than most of Oklahoma's defensive backs.
