Solid. OU has its share of poor years – four losing seasons in the ‘10s – but was in the Final Four as recently as 2016, has been to consecutive NCAA Tournaments and won a game there last season.
Long-term goal: Return to Big 12 title contention. OU went 12-6 in conference three straight seasons, 2014 through 2016. That’s good basketball.
Prediction: Hardest team to predict, because we know for virtual certainty that there will be a coaching change. Lon Kruger is 67. Hard to believe he’ll be coaching the Sooners at age 77.
