Last year’s Women’s College World Series final was three tight, tense games that came right down to the wire before the Oklahoma Sooners topped the Auburn Tigers 2-1 in the rubber match to claim their third national championship in Oklahoma City. The Tigers struck back in the first game of 2017 with a 3-2 victory. Clearly these are evenly matched teams who want another shot at each other.
But this time, Oklahoma will have to take two of three on the road.
In the Norman Regional, Oklahoma became just the eighth team since 2005 to advance after dropping the first game.
