Oklahoma Sooners Football: Report - Georgia’s Shane Beamer to become Oklahoma’s assistant head coach for offense

According to a report from ESPN’s Chris Low, the Oklahoma Sooners will hire Georgia special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Shane Beamer as assistant head coach for offense, a role which would involve helping Lincoln Riley with the weekly offensive game plan.

Beamer is the son of legendary Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer and had been in his role at Georgia for the past two seasons. Prior to arriving in Athens, he served as associate head coach/running backs coach under his father in Blacksburg. At age 40, Beamer is an energetic guy who resonates with both players and recruits.
