The Oklahoma Sooners received some good news in the recruiting trail when 2018 defensive back Kalon Gervin announced his decommitment from Notre Dame Saturday morning. Gervin has continued to be a target of Kerry Cooks since early on in the recruiting process despite committing to the Irish in February.
Notre Dame was able to pluck the 5-11, 180-pound, Cass Tech product over in-state favorites Michigan and Michigan State, along with Florida, LSU, Auburn, Oregon, Wisconsin and Penn State, among numerous others. The four-star Gervin told The Football Brainiacs that the Sooners are definitely in his sights, and the relationship forged with Kerry Cooks through the recruiting cycle is a big reason why.
